Description
COBRA 365 is our third-generation electronic control unit or microprocessor that processes signals from the load cells and speed sensor to calculate material flow rate (hourly weight) and totalized weight. Replaced by the COBRA 465 in 2025, it remains available as a spare part for the thousands of installations where it is still present worldwide.
The system automatically maintains the set point flow rate via PI control with an out-of-tolerance alarm and continuous transmission of the instantaneous flow rate via a proportional analog output. For batch dosing, preset, set, and fall values can be set with pulse outputs when the targets are reached.
The set point can also be adjusted via analog input, with an additional output for transmitting the actual flow rate. The system memorizes the dosing device’s operating curve to manage non-linear machines and calculates the totalized dosed weight, transmitting it via pulse output or RS232 printer.
It supports up to 15 programmable set points, with an analog output freeze function to prevent oscillations upon restart. During operation, it displays I/O status, weight, speed, encoder pulses, and correction factor. It includes automatic calibration procedures and PC/PLC connection via various protocols: ASCII, ModBus-RTU, Profibus, Profinet IO, EtherCAT, and Ethernet TCP/IP.
